Marina Notaras Romary Memorial Fund

Marina Photo for Plaque.jpg

A fundraiser is under way for the Marina Notaras Romary memorial. The City of Soap Lake Marina Memorial Committee is spearheading the project.

A 9" x 15" bronze plaque celebrating Marina's achievements will be created. A portion of the photo to the left will be etched in the plaque.

The plaque will be mounted on a basalt column at the corner of Main and Canna.   Sherry Xiao has generously offered the use of the site.

Plans and procedures are also in progress with the city council to rename the portion of Canna from Main Avenue to the park end of the street as Marinas Drive.  Considering Marina's drive to get things done, this is a fitting tribute!

Excess funds donated may be used toward street-renaming expenses, plaque upgrades, or beautification of plaque site with plantings.

The total amount needed is approximately $1500.  For those interested in donating,  checks can  be made out to City of Soap Lake, noting  "Marina" in the memo line. Please mail to Soap Lake City Hall,  PO Box 1270, Soap Lake, WA  98851, or put in the drop box in the city hall parking lot.  We hope to have the necessary funds raised by the end of May.

**NOTE: We anticipate that many will want to be part of this project. Because of that, the committee asks that you please limit your donation to $25 or less.

This will allow  more people to participate.

Thank you.
