From the City of Soap Lake's website:

"The City has been awarded an RCO grant of $211,000 to build a new Basketball Court at Smokiam Park. The City is requesting community support for this project by making donations to cover almost $25,000 required in matching funds.

"Please show your support prior to Feb. 3rd 2021, as progress toward the $25k goal will be presented to City Council for making the decision on accepting this grant."

In 2018, the parks committee and local students put in countless hours applying for a grant to build a new full size basketball court in Smokiam Park.

After being on an alternate waiting list for over 2 years, the project was just approved for the grant funding, which is exciting news for the community!

To capitalize on this opportunity, the City needs to provide almost $25,000 in matching funds and is depending on community support.

Help bring smiles to kids, basketball tournaments to watch, and a safe outdoor pastime for all, by sending monetary donations to the locations shared in this video.

Thank you!
