You can now receive official notifications from the Grant County Sheriff's Office via e-mail and text.  Please read the information below from Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones.
Subject: Official Notifications by E-Mail and Text Message

Dear Public Safety, Health Agencies, Schools, and other agencies:

On January 1, 2012, the Grant County Sheriff's Office will begin utilizing a new service to help you access important, valuable community information when you need it, using the latest technology.

The GCSO will create and publish news releases and messages through the Nixle Community Information Service. Nixle will then deliver this information to you instantly via text, email and/or web message. Notifications can also be accessed online at GCSO's Nixle web site https://local.nixle.com/grant-county-sheriffs-office/ com/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=https://local.nixle.com/grant-county-sheriffs-office/>

Example messages may include news releases, general crime prevention tips and other notifications as well as other relevant safety and community information.

The service is FREE, secure, reliable and easy for GCSO to use. YOU decide what information you want and whether you want it sent to your cell phone, email, or just simply over the web.

Please register now at the company's main web site: www.nixle.com. There you can also access their Frequently Asked Questions.

We also ask you to forward this email to 5 of your neighbors or friends in the community, encouraging them to register.

New communication forms continue to evolve and we believe this service will allow us to keep you informed in the most convenient, reliable way possible.

After January 1 2012, GCSO will exclusively use Nixle for sending public information, so it is important that you sign up for the Nixle messages.

Thank you for you continued support. If you have questions, please e-mail
kforeman@co.grant.wa.us or call 509-760-3713.
