Maynard Hagen Children's Trail This paved trail is .8 mile long and is a perfect place to walk, jog, skate, bicycle or push a stroller. Dogs (on a leash, please) love it too.
The trail begins at 6th Ave. SW and Division S (behind the Soap Lake Post Office) and runs west behind the school and then continues south along Grant Place.
This trail is named for local resident Maynard Hagen, who facilitated its creation when he was serving on the Soap Lake City Council. His goal was to provide children with a safe pedestrian route along the south end of the school campus as they walked to and from school.
The second leg of the trail, along Grant Place, was made possible thanks to the generous donation of property by the late Mr. W.C.Ramm and Mrs. Ramm, longtime residents of the community. Grant County and the City of Soap Lake collaborated to construct the trail.
Enjoy the wide open spaces and big Eastern Washington sky. You can see the lake in the distance. (SLFL photo)
