This unusual basalt flow is on the floor of the Chief Moses Council Cave. A special tour of this site, on private property, was arranged by the Lower Columbia Chapter of the Ice Age Floods Institute. The group hikes the second Saturday of each month to a site of geologic significance. Click on the photo to go to the Calendar page for information about the next hike, or phone 509-246-0566. The participants in the April 2010 IAFI hike split into two groups. Some hiked on the flatlands, while others took a route that led them to the top of the bluff. John's telephoto lens captured the image of those at the top. (Photo and insert by John Glassco, 2010)
Jordy Byrd from "Out There" magazine hiked with the IAFI group in April. She is in the back row, wearing a white headband. Everybody who was on the hike (except the photographer) posed for this picture at the end of the day. (Photo by Marion, 2010)
