Dale & Marina Best (left) were honored as Couple of the Year, and Bridgett Oie of Healing Water Spa (right) was recognized as Businessperson of the Year. Barney Berg received the Chamber's Mid Kreider Volunteer of the Year award. (Barney was not able to attend the event). Awards were presented by Denise Keegan, Chamber president, and Chuck Fogerson, Chamber secretary/treasurer. (SLFL photo)
Barney Berg with the Mid Kreider Citizen of the Year award and his dog, Maxine. Barney told SLFL, "This is one of the highest honors I have ever received. However, the plaque shouldn't say "Barney Berg." It should say "SLIC (Soap Lake Improvement Crew), and the community of Soap Lake"...they are the people I work with and for." (SLFL photo)

A local proudly shows off the T-shirt she outbid others for in the silent auction. On the right is business owner and lifelong Soap Lake resident Marina Romary. (If you took this photo, please e-mail SLFL so we can credit you.)
A local donated this T-shirt she had created especially for the Chamber auction, using letter and design embroidery templates available for sewing machines. Click anywhere on the picture to learn about Soap Lake's lava lamp story.
